La Jolla Surf: Culture, Art, Craft
The exhibition La Jolla Surf: Art, Culture, Craft invites viewers into the world of surfing through iconic photography by Roy Porello, Jeff Divine, and Ron Church, original artwork by award winning designer John van Hamersveld, and surf boards from the greatest shapers in the region. A central focus of the exhibition is original interview footage with local surfers created by Curator John Durant. Visitors will hear firsthand accounts of how the surfing community developed, how it has evolved over time, and the powerful connection to, and appreciation of the ocean and nature that surfing engenders. We will be serving burgers and dogs, but feel free to bring something of your own to grill as well! Non-alcholic drinks also provided courtesy of PBSC.
We will also be raffling off the Grateful Dead Surfboard that we first raffled off back in December!
Yes, since Vince won this board the first time, we are once again raffling off this super sick shred stick with custom hand painted Grateful Dead artwork on the deck, YEW!
Note that if you previously purchased any tickets at Surf Lounge or our Christmas party, you are still entered in the raffle, but of course you're always welcome to buy more tickets!
